Nano Dimension sells DragonFly additive manufacturing system to IIT, Italy

Nano Dimension Ltd, the world's leading supplier of additive electronics. (Nasdaq, Tel Aviv Stock Exchange: NNDM) today announced that it has sold its award-winning DragonFly Pro electronics additive manufacturing system to Istituto Italiano di Technologia (IIT) biomolecular nanotechnology. IIT is Italy's leading research organization dedicated to promoting the development of science and technology and higher education in science and technology.

The IIT staff consists of approximately 1,700 employees from more than 60 countries working together on cutting-edge research in the multidisciplinary fields of robotics, nanobiotechnology, industry, computational science and medicine. The research focus of the IIT Biomolecular Nanotechnology Center in Lecce is to develop micro/nano technologies for the human body and the environment by researching and developing nanomaterials and biomaterials and their interactions at the nanoscale.

Massimo De Vittorio, Senior Research Fellow and Center Coordinator, IIT Biomolecular Nanotechnology Center, said: "Adding DragonFly Pro to our facility will be a breakthrough for our researchers and developers, who are creating a new development platform. Rapid device and microsystem prototyping to produce and embed our MEMS technology and wearable electronics in custom multilayer PCBs."

Nano Dimension's distributor in Italy, Cadlog, contributed to the deal. Filippo dAgata, managing director of Cadlog, said: “We have seen an increase in interest in Nano Dimension's DragonFly in Italy, and we are more than happy to lead this revolution by Instituto Italiano di Technologia. Additive manufacturing of electronic products is efficient, we expect it to It has a major impact on the cornerstone of Forming Industry 4.0."

Nano Dimension CEO Amit Dror said: "We are very excited about this sale, reflecting the demand for cutting-edge technology for the development of top electronic applications by top European research institutes. Italy is one of the major European countries using Industry 4.0 technology. Make factory automation more flexible, reduce waste and drive innovation in new smart and connected products. With the DragonFly system, Istituto Italiano di Technologia will be able to focus on creating a new ecosystem that provides a more flexible workflow that can be uniquely structured New electronic products with geometric shapes and functions quickly develop complex multilayer PCBs."

The multi-material DragonFly Pro precision additive manufacturing system allows electronic designers and electrical engineers to simultaneously print 3D conductive metals and dielectric polymers for in-house prototyping and small batch production. This greatly reduces the project turnaround time for electronics developers because PCB prototypes and other functional circuits can be created by additive manufacturing in hours instead of weeks. This enables users to experience unparalleled rapid prototyping flexibility by leveraging more efficient workflows and adopting new design opportunities in shorter development cycles to achieve higher value.

As electronics, automotive, defense, consumer, and medical device manufacturers need to offer a variety of electronic components, 3D printed circuit board prototypes can be produced in the field in just a few hours, regardless of circuit complexity, enabling rapid innovation and time savings. Nano Dimension's DragonFly Pro system offers endless possibilities for creating dense electronic prototypes for intelligent design iterations, such as sensors, antennas, molded interconnects, and custom smart components that form the foundation of future electronics.
